EDT415s14Brianna prepares your child for success!
![]() PhilosophyMy philosophy for education is that teachers should be a guide that helps steer the boat but the energy that propels the boat comes from the students. Teachers should allow students to explore and investigate information to form their own knowledge rather than just being told what to know. All students are capable of learning but they just learn at different rates and in different ways and teachers needs to provide the resources to help their students grow and succeed. | All About MeMy name is Brianna Duffy and I am a senior at Central Connecticut State University. My major is Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. I work at a daycare, Beach Babies Learning Center, in Old Saybrook. I work in the Toddler Room where I am able to witness children take their first steps and say their first words. I babysit for two different families on the weekends and love to spend my free time reading. I have had my field experience in diverse settings that include Vance Village Elementary, Edna C. Stevens Elementary, John Paterson Elementary, Naylor Academy and now Holmes Elemenary. I have worked with a variety of different age groups and I enjoy learning and growing with them.
My Goals As a future educator, I want to instill the same passion that I have to my students through hands on activities that allow the students to think critically giving them opportunities to engage in thought-provoking, valuable ideas that emphasize how important it is to have collaborative learning with their peers, use multiple sources of intelligence and also build on student-teacher relationships.
